Airport Carpooling: Trips To and From the Airport, Station or Coach Station
Getting to an airport, train station or coach station is often the most underestimated expense of a trip: an overpriced taxi, an on-demand ride-hail, or long-stay parking billed daily for the entire trip duration. Airport carpooling lets you share these costs with other travellers taking the same flight or train, and avoids the parking question entirely. It's also a valuable solution for early morning flights or trains, when public transport isn't running yet.
Over a week of long-stay parking at a major Paris airport, an official car park bill frequently exceeds £130 to £175 — enough to cover several return carpool trips. Another option to complement door-to-door carpooling: leave your car at a carpooling car park (aire de covoiturage) before completing the journey together — France now counts more than 2,400 of these, spread across 77 départements (source: Base Nationale des Lieux de Covoiturage).
